FidDawg TechHub operates a captive portal system used to manage voucher-based internet access for users connecting to our Wi-Fi network.

2. What We Collect

• Device MAC address
• Hotspot/local IP address assigned while connected to our Wi-Fi
• Public IP address seen by our website or proxy
• Approximate location from public IP, such as country, region, city, ISP, and timezone
• Voucher info (M-Pesa receipt, validity)
• Connection logs (time, data usage)
• Optional phone number (via M-Pesa)

3. Why We Collect It

• To authorize internet access
• Monitor usage and prevent abuse
• Enforce bandwidth/time limits
• Improve service and performance
• Confirm that voucher purchases are started from a valid hotspot session
• Keep audit records for payment and support issues

4. Hotspot Purchase Checks

Voucher purchases require valid hotspot context, including device MAC address, hotspot/local IP address, and router name. If you open the purchase page while not connected to our Wi-Fi, voucher plans may be hidden and you may be asked to connect to Wi-Fi first.

Public IP address and approximate IP-based location are used for audit and troubleshooting. Public IP location is not exact GPS location. Public IP does not by itself give internet access, and it is not used as the main proof that your device is connected to the hotspot.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We use cookies or local storage to save login sessions and user preferences.

6. Third Parties

We may integrate with:

• M-Pesa API (for payment verification)
• Cloudflare (security and tunneling)
• IP geolocation services (for approximate audit location)

7. Data Retention

We keep logs for 90 days for network management and legal compliance.
